Hans Mensonides (1966) graduated in law at the Erasmus University Rotterdam and started his legal career in 1991 at a small law firm in the court district of The Hague, where he learned the ropes in general commercial practice, i.e. seamless multitasking, verbal precision and a quick grasp of the subject matter. These skills came in good use to him when he later started working as in-house lawyer at Rabobank Nederland and ABN AMRO Bank. Hans has been involved in various financial reorganisations and is a specialist in the field of finance law, security rights and insolvencies. He has ample experience in complex issues in the area of seizures and directors’ liability.
Hans advises and litigates. He also acts as a general corporate law consultant to the board of directors of a number of clients.
Hans is co-founder of the law firm Mensonides Meuleman in 2009, which has since merged into Wiersma Mensonides in 2012.

Hans Mensonides has registered the following principal (and secondary) legal practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister):
- Civil Procedural Law (Arrest/Attachment, Enforcement and Litigation)
Based on this registration, Hans is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
